Dual Plate Check Valve available in size DN40 to DN1200 is a check valve where two discs hence the word dual, which are the movable parts will block the flow, moving backwards via a spring, either onto the seats to block reverse flow or off the seats to allow forward flow. Connection is can be wafer or flanged fitted between two pipe flanges. Check valves will protect your pump and drive system from reversing, preventing reverse flow from the fluid you are pumping. The dual discs will only open in one direction that being forward flow. The force of the fluid being pumped will open the dual discs, and they are connected to a spring. This spring has a self shutting function, so if there is nothing in the pipeline, the discs will be swung closed. The spring force is not too great that it hinders any flow efficiencies in the pipeline. The life span of the spring will be greatly increased if it is made from 316 stainless steel, the spring is probably as important and the sealing surface which will help prevent any fluid from leaking past the discs and sealing. Seal and seat materials vary, being Resilient seat or hard metal, Viton is excellent for hard wearing.
