Bei der Verladung gefährlicher Medien (ätzend, toxisch, explosiv etc.) wird der Einsatz von Nottrennkupplungen daher im zunehmenden Maße zum Standard, um Betriebsunfällen vorzubeugen.
Nottrennkupplungen sind dazu typischer Weise mit zwei Funktionen ausgestattet:
■Funktion 1) Ein definierter Trennmechanismus, der hinreichend weit vor der Belastungsgrenze anspricht und die Leitung zwischen der mobilen Einheit und dem Verladesystem trennt.
■Funktion 2) Eine spontane Verschlussautomatik für beide Trennstellen, um das Austreten der Medien zu verhindern.
