This is a video I cobbled together of my 1985 Chevy crewcab. It was originally a 2wd c30 dually with a 6.2 diesel auto Turbo400 trans . I converted it to 4wd using DIY4x4 leafspring hangers on the front and shackle reverse kit on the rear. I made a temporary engine xmember while I got my Cummins drivetrain together.
I drove it for about 2 years 2wd with some 35 inch tires. I forgot to mention I did a cross over steering on the Dana60 using PartsMike Kingpin arm and a Jeep drop steering arm. I made my own steering bars using stock tre’s
I finally found an NP205 29 spline tcase from behind a 1992 Dodge Getrag so the Cummins swap began.
I made the Xmembers from mild steel and mig welded. I used the factory motor mounts fron 1997 Dodge 6bt.
No body lift was used so the bell housing is tight in the tunnel.
I tried keeping everything ass stock as possible for future repairs. Stock Serpentine belt. Stock upper radiator hose. I’ll find the part # for the bottom hose. It’s one piece with the big hose inlet at the block and small hose at the radiator. The turbo boost side tube was extended 3inches and the other side boost tube is stock. I also modded the 45 degree elbow at the Turbo outlet .
